Hi Kevin.
Did you check if there is any track, or most important, the Master
Output fader in Logic, clipping.
If yes, bring the volume down.
For audio interfaces, which protocol you wanna use? USB or FireWire?
Anyway, look out for some brands:
- RME
- MOTU
- Metric Halo
- PreSonus
- Digidesign
- Focusrite
- Edirol
- M-Audio
- Mackie
etc, etc, etc...
And yes, you'll have less latency problems and better audio quality
using a professional audio interface, with great pre-amps, AD/DA
converters and drivers.
The first four in the list above are the ones I prefer. (I own a MOTU
828 mkII).
