Subject: [LUG] Sending & receiving MIDI SysEx msgs w/ faders
Message #216940
I downloaded a Triton Rack environment layer (for inspiration), and it contains faders mapped to sysex messages. Is this a feature of "Logic Pro" that is not in "Logic Express"? I have the latter, and its set of message types does not include sysex. I'm trying to get deeper hooks into my Yamaha S90 keyboard, so I want to send & receive these messages. Is anyone using this feature? Does it work well? I ask because this is yet another reason for "the upgrade". Already on my list are EVP88, some missing audio commands like split on silence, & beat mapping MIDI streams. I'm a bit annoyed that the distinction between "Pro" & "Express" is not clearly spelled out. To read the marketing literature, the distinction is fewer VIs, no surround processing, and fewer of Audio & MIDI channels. In reality, the differences are pervasive. Thanks, Jim ===[ iBook G4 1.2 GHz, 512MB, OS X 10.4.7, Logic Express 7.2.1 ]==
