Interesting. That might indicate a bug in the mLan driver or audio
card firmware. Maybe it only sees the first- or last-initialized FW
controller. My RME doesn't care which FW controller it's on, built-in
or cardbus (PCI).

I believe so, but it's easy enough to check. Try copying files to it
via 400 and 800 - the difference in speed is fairly obvious on my
FW800 drive when running at 800. Alternately, try recording to it via
400 and 800 and check out Logic's disk performance meter. Then compare
to speed with 400 drive off/on.
