Maybe it only sees the first- or last-initialized FW controller. My RME doesn't care which FW controller it's on, built-in or cardbus (PCI). > My question is: the FW400 drive is for backups only > and it gets turned on at the end of the day when my > work is done. Try copying files to it via 400 and 800 - the difference in speed is fairly obvious on my FW800 drive when running at 800. Alternately, try recording to it via 400 and 800 and check out Logic's disk performance meter. Then compare to speed with 400 drive off/on.
