Subject: Logic, Retro and sysex
Message #21687
I have Logic 4 for Windows and Retro AS-1. I used to hate the way the Retro engine would start every time I started Logic, but then I found out you could choose patches from Logic and play the sounds without opening Retro's mixer or anything else. The only things I can't control are the master parameters on the mixer that are controlled by Sysex. All it says in the manual is: Master Volume ($F0 $7F $00 $04 $01 $VL $VH $F7) So I make a fader in Logic's environment, but there is no way to type it in. I put it in midi learn mode and move the faders in Retro - nothing happens. I then load a utility called MidiOx. I paste in "($F0 $7F $00 $04 $01 $VL $VH $F7)" in it's sysex editor and send it to Logic, since there is no way for Retro to send it to Logic. A couple of lines of Sysex shows up in Logic's fader. Good. I move the fader in Logic and Retro's master goes from 64 to 0 and stays there, no matter how much I move the fader any further, nothing happens, it's stuck on zero. Does anybody have a Logic Environment with the Master Faders (master volume, balance, global etc) in Retro's Mixer working? Does anybody know how to make this work? It seems the Master Mixer Volume boosts the signal more than just the volume on each track that I can control through Logic and would like to do this and keep all settings in Logic. ...and I tried Rewire but it seems to suck in my setup. Thanks.
