Subject: [LUG] New MacBook, new audio problem
Message #216866
Just set up a new MacBook with Logic Express, using an Edirol UA-5 for audio. The Edirol is experiencing occasional "hiccups" during playback, which it did not do with my iBook (recently deceased due to an ill-placed glass of wine). Quick little "skips" in the audio is the best I can do by way of description. This occurs no matter how I set the I/O buffer size or the Process Buffer Range as well as with or without the "Larger Disk Buffer"option checked. I'm working on my first song with this setup--only ten tracks and the System Performance meters barely register anything. The skips are random in nature and are not recorded in the actual audio regions. Oddly, these skips also occur if I'm playing a song through iTunes, so it isn't a Logic-specific issue. Any thoughts? MacBook 2G, 10.4.7, 1G RAM, Logic Express 7.2 (Intel upgrade), external LaCie firewire drive.
