Thanks for the post. Running Logic on an iBook I have to pay pretty
close attention to CPU load so I hope to get the best info possible
on this. I may have been mistaken, but some time ago I thought I saw
a post that said muting a track with plugins still used the same
amount of CPU, but that bypassing them by either opening the plugin
and selecting bypass or option-clicking them would prevent them from
using CPU. The manual says something similar when it talks about
software instruments indicating that a muted instrument track still
used the same amount of CPU. Currently I have 3 instances of MH
Channel Strip on 6 tracks in a project and use the bypass automation
to switch between them and I don't see much change in the CPU
performance as indicated by the system performance meters in LE, but
often the Activity Monitor utility is a better indicator. I haven't
checked that yet. Anyone else care to chime in?
