Gilles, It is not advisable to move it as far from the graphics card (AGP) as possible. The best place for an audio card is indeed PCI slot 2. PCI slot 1 is the one right next to the AGP slot and it shares some resources with it. Therefore you should only put low-data-usage-cards in this slot.
