I think you're going about this backwards, and in doing so will degrade the
quality of your
audio unnecessarily. The best way to do this sort of thing is to use beat
mapping in logic
to tighten the audio to logics grid (logic will create tempo changes so that
the audio fits to
bar). Then export it as a midi file (with the tempo)(you may need to create
dummy regions
that are as long as the track for it to export correctly). Then get your
mate to load the midi
file and audio files, then his version of the song will be in time with your
version (where
the tempo changes, but the audio does not). Then the grids in cubase will be
to the bar
(facilitating editing and programming) yet the audio will not change. Its
quite a complex
idea but works very well, essentially you do pretty much everything BUT
change the tempo
of the audio ;-) Mike
