Hi Jen,
Something similar was happening to me.
Record and playback the track as the track as MIDI- this will give
you your score.
Go to the track bar and hold the cursor down next to the MUTE button
Select Audio> Audio Instrument.
Go into the far left of the arrange window and maximise the very
bottom window of Inst 1 . (You may need to click on the arrow by
Inst 1 to get rid of the MIDI sub menu.)
Click and hold down on the word Inserts.
Click on one of the available instrument groups in the sub-menu
The button under I/O will change colour.
Click on it and hold it down.
Go to stereo>logic> whichever synthesiser you choose (including
garage band instruments if you have them!).
If the sound output from your computer is working you should now hear
something and see it as well through the MIDI file. I personally
think that the internal voices are not very good but that is only one
man's opinion and I'm probably doing something wrong.
This is not the same as recording your keyboard/sound module in an
Audio track which it makes a digital recording of your keyboard's
sound output and certainly with Logic Express makes no attempt to
interpret that as notation. Logic Platinum used to I think but I'm
not sure what Logic Pro does.
You've probably got a million and one more coherent answers than this
but I've had such wonderful help recently that to respond is the
least I can do.
Regards,
Chris Pratt.
