This is a reply to #215956.

Kind of a mixed blessing; it's really a different machine (as you noticed) but on the other hand it's one heck of an upgrade to get for free. :o) > concerned that Logic Gold may not run properly and I'll have to > shell out > £150 for L7. Definitely. Then again, you get a lot of value for money with that upgrade. But any pre-7.2 version will suck on an Intel mac. > Will all my plug-ins needs to be Universal too?? Yes all your plugins need to be universal, but by now all software manufacturers are working on them, so it shouldn't take too long. > Also, my XS Key was set up for the other machine, which is no > longer with > me. How do I register the new machine with the key so I can > actually boot > Logic Gold up?? The whole point of the XS Key is to make your registration independant of your machine. So just plug in the key and go. (Remembering that Logic 6 will run slowly or not at all on a MacBook). > Is it just me or has this whole Intel decision making the process > of making > music very complicated! It's mostly the decision of your insurance to replace your machine with a totally different machine that's complicating things. :o) Maurits.
