Kind of a mixed blessing; it's really a different machine (as you
noticed) but on the other hand it's one heck of an upgrade to get for
free. :o)

Definitely. Then again, you get a lot of value for money with that
upgrade. But any pre-7.2 version will suck on an Intel mac.

Yes all your plugins need to be universal, but by now all software
manufacturers are working on them, so it shouldn't take too long.

The whole point of the XS Key is to make your registration
independant of your machine. So just plug in the key and go.
(Remembering that Logic 6 will run slowly or not at all on a MacBook).

It's mostly the decision of your insurance to replace your machine
with a totally different machine that's complicating things. :o)
