I also live in CE and was simply setting GMT+1 system time via Tray Clock
back to GMT, then after rebooting (!) ES1 authorisation worked fine.

Subject: HOW ES-1 works! was: Re: [LUG] Curing a Sick ES1: Emagic's Solution
Downgrading to 4.1.1, installing ES-1 and upgrading to 4.1.4 worked
on my system.
Setting the Time to GMT +1 will NOT work, because... it´s always
set
to GMT +1 on my PC as I live in central europe... ;-) but ES-1
installation failed, so this workaround doesn´t seem to work on
every
machine, because if it would work, i wouldn´t have had this
problems.
