Okay, folks, I think I've answered my own question. It seems that
Ivory does not yet work on the Intel platform (so I don't get to play
my lovely Bosendorfer for a while). By googling I found this well-
hidden blurb on synthogy's web site at http://www.synthogy.com/pages/
news.html#UpgradeNews:

Ivory and Intel based Mac Support
We have received numerous inquiries recently about our plans to
support the new Intel based Macs. Development for "Universal
Binary"
support is well underway for Ivory, and we expect to release new
versions that support Intel Macs later in Q2 of this year. Audio
Units will be the first plug-in format supported, followed by RTAS
and VST in that order. Please check back with our News page here on
our site for the latest information on the availability of these new
versions on our downloads page.

So Q2 of this year would imply by end June...happy July 2nd everyone!
