Subject: [LUG] Computer zapped due to Loop Browser?
Message #215945
Here's a strange one - I dragged Apple Loops from an exernal HD to Loop Browser and chose "leave files where they are and index" in the pop-up. After three minutes with a very slow moving progress bar I thought it was taking a suspiciously long time to index a few files so I chose to Force Quit out of Logic. The Finder appears but it's not working properly, so I restart the Finder. Now the Finder reappears but as if I don't have any Preferences. I check. My Preferences have been zapped. All of them. My Music folder has been emptied. My Pictures folder, my Mail "Inbox.mbox" and "Outbox.mbox" files have been zapped, and a non-standard folder called Projects that was in my User directory has been zapped. I'm not the sort of bod who doesn't due the occasional back-up, and the project I was in the middle of working on wasn't deleted, so I'm not totally screwed. Has anyone ever had this happen while working with Loop Browser or quitting out of Logic, or have I just been attacked over the internet? My connection was live and I may have had Windows sharing on by accident. I'm considering a total re-install. Logic 7.1.1 Powerbook G4 867 Cheers, Stephen. ___________________________________________________________ Tiscali Broadband from 14.99 with free setup! http://www.tiscali.co.uk/products/broadband/
