Personally, I believe Waves L1 is far from magical. It will destroy the high end in any mix. I have definitely had much better results with the AdLimiter in Logic. I must stress that it depends on the content, but the AdLiniter is much more transparent over a mix, than the 'colorful' L1. There are many alternatives that you should try the demos of!
