Then again it's pretty obvious Novation did not intend this to be a piano-style controller. I just got the thing so it may be I haven't noticed any problems yet, but if anything I like the feel and sensitivity better than my other controllers. I've also used some M-Audio and Kurzwiel controllers and while there are subtle differences in feel in all of them, the remote SL fell within acceptable parameters for a controller. I think that the keys are 'stiff' and very solid, it may be you simply have to use more hand strength to get the same result. I do notice that I need to apply more pressure to get the aftertouch results I want. > Velocity sensitive drumpads of the 1st unit also had irregular > sensitivities. I do notice I have to give the drumpads a good solid strike to get a good level, I have not adjusted the sensitivity calibration settings. > > Maybe the ones that came to Japan only... but make sure that the > keyboard "feels" and "sounds" right with your velocity-sensitive > patches before buying it. Well it's not my main controller- I bought it more as a computer input device and to operate Logic, for that purpose it's fabulous. If I need the playability of a main synth controller I will probably defer to my 76-note Fantom. But so far I've been able to move back and forth from the Fantom to the Remote with no real major adjustment in playing style...
