Here’s a little technique of mine should any of u do lots of
softsynth native
to logic type work/programming. I find this is cool and it saves me time.
Iss'nt THAT what we need?
It seems that all of garage band synthy tone generators are all based on one
instrument native to Logic: The ES2). Let's say I’m scoring a scene
that needs
a particular synth sound for it. I start by instantiating a garage band
instrument first. I’ll call up a garage band synth that may have a
sound in
particular that I’m thinking about for the scene. It just has to
CLOSELY
approximate the sound I was thinking of. Now that I have that instrument
up I start
tweaking it to get a sound close to what I am thinking of in my head.
(maybe
it’s a pad or a sound that has more of an attack at the
beginning…) When I’
m close to the sound I want I go back to the channel strip/instrument
selection area and select an ES2. You will see a very cool thing happen.
The ES2
takes on like a mirror all of the garage band instrument settings! Now I
can
go in and fine tune that sound I am after! Fun stuff. This way your not
overwhelmed with all the settings that the ES2 would have to get your basic
sound BUT once the es2 IS called up you have IT'S power at YOUR command!
