Subject: [LUG] Best Native EQ?
Message #213303
Hi everyone. I've been doing a lot of heavy mixing lately and I've started to notice that I could maybe do with a new top fight EQ plugin. I own 2 x UAD cards so in the "character" area I have things like the pultec which I'm very happy with. I do use the UAD Cambridge a lot and it's currently my best "surgical" style parametric EQ but at times I've noticed it's not as good as it could be. To my ear it has a slightly better sound than Logic's own Channel EQ which is no slouch. It is this style of equaliser that I'm looking for something better in. You know, lot's of bands with filters where you can get very accurate. Logic's linear Phase EQ sounds wonderful but a bit of over kill for my main mixing EQ and also DSP hungry... I'm aware of the Oxford EQ in Powercore but was hoping not to have to go that far in dollar terms. What else is there for native? Sonalksis? URS? Waves Renaissance? Something else I've not heard of? I am also aware that UAD are bringing out the Neve EQ's but I suspect these will probably sound great but more in a vintage style and so not really what I'm looking for. Your opinions would be greatly appreciated... ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Paul Najar Jaminajar Music Production www.jaminajar.com
