No. My g4's standard ethernet port is 10/100 so I put the Gigabit ethernet card in my G4 to give it a gigabit (1000) port and I talk to my G5 over this port as the G5 already has a Gigabit port as standard. This has the added benefit of turning my G4 into an internet server. You need two ethernet ports to do this. I use my 10/100 port for my cable modem (WAN) and my Giga port for my local network. It works great even when the node is heavily loaded. Regards ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Paul Najar Jaminajar Music Production www.jaminajar.com
