Only if a) everything you need to run has been updated to run on
Intel; and b) a laptop or Mini will work for you. The full-powered
desktop machines haven't been announced yet. None of the Intel Macs
holds over 2GB, and that's not enough if you're running lots of EXS.
I personally couldn't move my studio over to Intel yet, and I suspect
a lot of people are in the same boat. And while I'd be afraid to pay
over $3500 for a quad, the reason isn't that the Intel Macs are
coming, it's that it's a lot of money for a computer. The situation
right now isn't really very different from what it always is: faster
machines are coming, and the one you buy today is going to be long in
the tooth in two years.
What is different today is that you can keep old machines and have
them run plug-ins and instruments.
