Subject: [LUG] Stutter when recording mutiltrack - disks calibrating?
Message #211969
Hi list! I'm having a problem, occasionally getting "error synchronizing audio and midi" while recording live performances ( about 30 tracks..). It gives a short stutter in the audio, but luckily the recording continues. Unfortunatley there is no way to rescue the take without alternative takes and some editing. I'm suspecting it has to do with heads on the disk calibrating because of heating, ram-buffers getting filled up? One thought is to record in another more bullet (disk) proof application, but which one.. somebody here doing liverecordings? Too bad Logic don't have the option to record to several disks at once.. I was looking at Mackies Tracktion, maybe Ableton (but I have heard it is not that effecient on OSX as on XP). I recall Cool Edit was a tank, now adobe but only PC. Nuendo, DP etc... but it might be an overkill. Any thoughts, suggestions :-)? Best, Pelle Fridell
