Thinking of a > (future) MacBook scenario with only 1 FW bus. This issue has been discussed a lot on the MH forum. The prevailing wisdom is that in general, you will save yourself a lot of problems by adding an additional firewire bus, either in the form of a cardbus solution for laptop, or a PCI card in the case of a desktop machine. I'm having great success with a FW800 PCI card that I purchased from NewEgg.com. It's by Sabrent and it's only $34. Here's the link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16815123002 The Mobile I/O doesn't actually need FW800, but for a few extra bucks you have more headroom for FW800 drives if you have any.
