The delay is not necessary because of plug in delay compensation- I did a
bunch of tests to confirm this- putting the parallel signal out of phase
canceled out the sound- proving that Plug in delay comensation works. This
was not available when Bob wrote the book.
BTW the sample delay will let you delay the signal at the sample level, you
get a much finer control if you click on the number in the sample delay plug
and type in numbers- draging the slider is not precise enough for many
tasks.
