Also have all the relevant takes on copies of the same audio track say Audio 1 put logic into cycle mode of the section you need to audition then just cycle round the takes muting as you go. You can then slice up good sections of each take. I then Have a empty copy of the same Audio track 1 at the top of all the takes which I then drag my definitely good take regions to, you can then use that to make your comp track and do any cross fades etc. I let some one else answer the transpose bit. Also this question has been asked here a few time try a search on "Vocal Comping" or something.
