Subject: [LUG] workflow advice needed from composers/songwriters
Message #211860
hi, fairly new to Logic... 4 months on it. At a beginning/ intermediate level using it. am basically writing tunes at the moment... you know, A sections, B sections, Chorus, Bridge... etc... wondering if any songwriters/composers can give me some workflow tips/ideas. I have a tune for instance, where the Arrange page is a mess at this point. I like to try re-hamonizing sections, so I have tracks of reharms... and then to hear the different versions - I mute them. However, the Arrange page gets cluttered... and I find I want to try transposing sections... then reharming those - or changing the melodies on the chords... anyways... my Arrange page is a mess. It just occured to me - that I should probably just make separate song files for each... but that's a lot of versions and mess also - though probably better than what I'm doing. How do you composers/songwriters go about having a logical order to such chaos when experimenting/creating within Logic? Could definitely use some tips from people who have figured out a strategy/process for this. Please assume I am a complete beginner when passing along ideas. Thanks in adance!!
