I have never been happier with a new Mac than I am with this MacBook (and I'm going on 18 years of owning various Macs, laptops and Desktops). Keep in mind, however, that as an early adopter of the Intel Macs, we are going to have to wait for the rest of the Mac developers to catch up. For example-- > Also installed Reaktor without a problem. But when I try to call up > Reaktor as a plugin whilst using Logic, there is nothing in the plugin > part/directory for any plugins apart from Logics own plugins. That is correct. Logic has been completely ported over and recompiled to run natively on the Intel CPU. That means it can only "see" plug-ins that have also been ported over and recompiled to run natively on the Intel CPU. Other applications that have not been recompiled, such as Microsoft Word, will still run on the MacBook, but they run inside a special "real-time compiler" called "Rosetta" that basically changes the PowerPC code into Intel code. But Rosetta is not fast enough for realtime media use, and doesn't include ALL of the PowerPC instructions (such as Altivec). So it won't work for plug-ins running inside native applications. To sum all that up, you're going to have to wait until Native Instruments releases their Intel Mac version of Reaktor to use it on your MacBook Pro. A bummer, but worth it, in the end. :) BTW--Native Instruments has actually already posted their Intel Mac support timeline on their website for all their software: http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=intelmac_us&ftuÞ48c c5910 So they plan on releasing Reaktor in Q2/2006. Assuming they can make their goal, that only means a couple of months without Reaktor in Logic. Orren
