Subject: [LUG] More with the Mastering Plugins
Message #211857
There're a few plugs suitable for mastering, I think, that haven't been mentioned, and I'd like to hear other people's opinions. I'm in the market for a new final-stage limiter/maximizer, and as much as I'd like something like L3 I just don't want to deal with "renting" plugins from Waves. So what do y'all think of... Elemental Audio Finis (I love Firium. It's my go-to surgical linear-phase EQ. Is Finis as good?) SlimSlow C3 (A free FREE! multiband comp that happens to have a linear phase option. I've played with it a little and it sounds pretty surprisingly good in FIR mode, although the interface is kinda clunky. It's missing an input gain control, though, which is kinda irritating. Any opinions on this one?) PSP MasterComp (Tried to get the demo...they sent me the iLok key but no actual plugin demo. I like PSP's stuff though, generally. How's MC stack up?) Any others I should be looking into? __________________________________________________________ Eric Oehler / wonko@nulldevice.com / www.nulldevice.com
