Technically, Apple supports only supports G5s and Intel Macs with
Gigabit Ethernet as Nodes, and only supports them connecting to Macs
with GigaBit Ethernet.
In other words, Apple would tell you that a PowerMac/PowerBook G4 +
Intel Mac Mini Node, would be officially supported.
If you have a G4 without GigaBit, such as an iBook or older iMac, it
won't be a supported configuration, but that's not to say that it
can't be done. Others here have reported success with unsupported
configurations, so it might just work.
