I am on the same OS and Logic version as you. Use a FW400 for Audio and FW800 for samples. i am not experiencing any of the problems you mentioned . System is:G5 2.3 DUAL/3.5 RAM /MOTU 828II. VSL HORIZON/RMX/ POCO PCI.
