Subject: [LUG] Nodes etc
Message #210521
It will be fantastic if the new intel macs can be used as nodes with the G4-G5 generation as people are saying, although it seems odd it would be able too. Also just as a bit of info for the list. I often use my two powerbooks noded together, my PB 1.67 as master and my old TiBook 550mHz on the node, using gigabit ethernet it and works very well and adds a reasonable amount of extra power to my setup. It works surprisingly well. I think the key to it is the gigabit ethernet speed. An old mac mini might not be so good as it doesn't have the gigabit ethernet. Both my powerbooks do. Will be great if the new mac minis can be added to a node. Such a cheap way to add a lot more grunt to a Powerbook based setup. Leon
