i posted this last night . .this morning nothing has changed . .the fans are whirring so loud and the g5 dual 2.5 still won't boot up. gets stuck on the desktop following from yesterday's post . . . just installed it on the G4 no problem!! however our G5 will NOT REBOOT after installation we have tried taking all periferals off and tried restarting at least ten times gone back to the basic bare bones keyboard and apple mouse and still will not get further than the desktop where it gets horribly stuck we had two kernal panics and the dreaded 747 getting ready for take off sound everything was "as well as can be expected " until the update . . working great all day until the update any help greatfully received thanks P Strayhorn ======================G5 dual 2.5 OSX 10.4.2 Logic Pro 7.1.1 3.5 GB ram http://www.musicallmusic.com ======================
