This is a reply to #202312.
Thanks to everyone that has been replying and telling me about the styles they work on. Please keep it coming. I think I'll be able to prove my point to my friend, that software is software, and it does not necessarily condition the music you produce, not as much as you would rationally assess. Cheers! Keep it coming! ps I produce experimental postmodern pop, with all kinds of mixed influences within pop and rock but also other influences such as southamerican music (I'm argentinian), and my main platform is logic pro 7 (although I sometimes bring audio produced in max/msp, and in logic also use a considerable deal of audio processing as well as logic's soft synths). Of course max/msp and logic are very different sources of sound, but they belong to different music software "families", so that is a different thing (it's almost like comparing logic to photoshop). Looking forwards for more logic styles/genres!
