Try zapping the PRAM (yep - you still need to do that once in awhile in OS X!) I've had several nasty problems with Peak not wanting to open lately, and this has solved all of the problems. Another thing - get in the habit of running "console" (located in Utilities) when you are having problems like this. Often this gives you information that can help narrow down the problem. Of course, also get in the habit of repairing permissions, logging out and back in, and make sure that 20-25% of your drive space is free. I also can't say enough good things about Techtool Pro 4. I've heard Diskwarrior is also a must-have. Just some basic OS X troubleshooting tips.... Tim Clarke
