Hi Hans,
I've had this happen too.
From memory, I think it's something to do with the anchor of the left region
being at the
end of the region, rather than at the beginning, and occuring later than the
anchor of the
right (overlapping) region.
I've found can happen after doing lots of edits to a region and can lead to
seemingly inexplicable problems such as this. I wish the anchor would act a
little more
intelligently and default to the left of the region in these situations
(whilst maintaining the
regions position in the arrange page of course).
This doesn't circumvent the need to reedit 400 regions though... You could
try selecting
all regions, resizing them with a left or right corner drag and then
resizing them back (or
undoing the operation).
I've also found that Apple-X on a region followed by Apple-Z can sometimes
provide the
requisite kick in the head to sort mysterious anomolies out...
