Subject: RE: [LUG] can we auto save session in logic?
Message #199789
This is a reply to #199774.
Well, I agree. Being vigilant about saving is just plain good computer practice. However, given that logic can save, usually without a hiccup, there is almost no reason I can think of that it shouldn't be implemented in the program (at least as an option). Having your hand glued to the apple key is a good habit, but a computer, in this day and age, should be more than capable of freeing up your hand for other tasks --especially for something as menial, rudimentary, and basic as saving. I too am really good about saving (one has to be). But I'm not ashamed to admit that there have been more than a few times when an auto-save feature would have gotten me out of a pinch. So I'd like chime in with auto-save on my wishlist, echoing the two assertions that (1), auto-save shouldn't overwrite your original document, and (2), it should be something you could disable if you wanted to. Plenty of other programs implement it that way. As an anecdote, this isn't the first time this has come up. I remember, way back, someone (was it f-erenc or per) claimed that logic HAD an auto-save function...their pinkie and index finger? But it raises the question of why this feature has consistently been so stubborn to appear. Is this some sort of philosophical objection on the part of emapple, or perhaps something about the code that we don't understand which makes it difficult to implement? I wonder... best, Nathan ___ Nathan Rosenberg Music Production The Doghouse NYC www.doghouseNYC.com
