For mastering I'm mostly doing fine with only Logic's own AD-limiter (as for sound manipulating plug-ins). I have tried mastering also with the Multipressor (as in the custom channel strip pre-sets), but tend to get a better sound by skipping over it. I think it's better to address things like track level, EQ and track compressing one step earlier, i.e. when mixing, getting the mix as close to the final master as possible. On some occasions I have been using the EQ's PSP Master-Q and Sonalkis SV-517, only because I like the way they also color the sound. When mixing, it may be a good trick to slap a AD-Limiter at the main output, for monitoring. Then you will get a faster grip of how to balance levels and frequencies to get it right later on, in the mastering process. I'm finding Logic's compressors very good. Sometimes I'm able to get a slightly more punchy sound out of the PSP MixPressor (using it on the track, not on the master) but often the best sound is to be found with Logic's own compressors. It all depends on the source material. Greetings from Sweden Per Boysen www.looproom.com (international) www.boysen.se (Swedish) ---> iTunes Music Store (digital) www.cdbaby.com/perboysen
