This is a reply to #199718.

First thing, I'm sorry, I was too stupid to write "Lynx", second, IIRC I was the one to write this about Motu earlier in the thread: "The Motu stuff isn't bad at all, but if you combine a 5 year old PCI card that was always known to be a bit quirky with a current system, this is what you'll most likely get." (the second part was a comment about using the PCI-324 in a G5) When I wrote "problems with PCI-424", I ment, it's pretty hard to get the PCI-424 into a notebook[1]. Oh yes and of course you have to use an audiowire compatible device from Motu on the other end of the cable :) But I don't like the sound of the current audiowire frontends (2408, 24I/O, HD192) too much, maybe just my personal spleen, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the company or their products. Their support is also very good, even if you really need them - once the DA board inside one of my 896 broke down, it took them one week (incl. shipping) to change it, and another week to change it again (one of the inputs of the new board didn't work). That's ok for me, I'm used to "when it fails then it really fails" situations. Regards, Daniel [1] Yes, I know there exist interfaces like traveler, 896, 828, but the fireface just sounds cleaner for know (IMHO). -- Daniel Hojka University of Music and Dramatic Arts Institute 8 (Jazz) Moserhofgasse 39-41 A-8010 Graz
