I know from first hand experience that it is not a waste of time. It
has solved some problems for me. Takes only a few seconds on my
computers... and it would be foolish to skip when it is so easy to do
and takes so little effort. Often problem solving takes crossing
things off the list. I always start with the easiest.... such as a
simple RESTART. Can't tell you how many times that has solved a
problem :) Just the other day I was getting a click when starting
play. Restart, no problem, gone. I don't know why it happened, and
frankly I don't care as long as it doesn't become chronic. Do yourself
a favor and do the simple things first... otherwise you probably will
waste your time.
