Bingo.
Sure, they're dongles that offer more value added (meaning, DSP Power) than
simply a
PACE iLok, but they're basically big, fat, dongles. Unfortunately, they are
also dongles that
offer their own set of issues (long latencies making them useless for
tracking, driver issues
so that something like the UAD needs to be updated for Tiger, etc).
Don't get me wrong, I love the quality of these plug-ins. I think everyone
agrees that the
UAD1 is truly Tops when it comes to high quality stuff. But I wish they
could just invent a
fool-proof native copy protection and let the damn things run Natively; let
me get my own
second computer for extra DSP power if I need it!
