Subject: LP 6.4.1 Crash City All of a Sudden
Message #196640
Logic Pro 6.4.1; 1 GHz TiBook; OS9.2.2; Mobile IO2882+DSP This rig has been very stable and reliable, until last night. Working with a very small session, five audio tracks, two Gainers, two ChannelStrips, one Space Designer. End of day did a Save As Project, set to copy all used and leave originals in place, which it seemed to do fine. Then I tried to open the original Logic document and Logic crashed with a Type 1. It has now done that repeatedly. I cannot get at any previously saved file completely. I've trashed Logic preferences, several times. On reboot Logic reports USB MIDI available, then comes the request to select an audio hardware driver, whereupon I select ASIO and the Metric Halo driver. Rebooting Logic thereafter takes me right back to Crash City. I have also trashed and replaced the Metric Halo ASIO drivers, and the MIO driver and Enabler extensions. No help there. If I trash Logic's prefs, and then skip the offer to select a hardware driver, I can get a file open. But nothing will play back (no ASIO working, obviously) and there is a squiggly black slash mark across the inserted plugins. What am I missing? Is this a call for a compete reinstall of Logic? Thanks, all; I'm stumped. And this stuff always shows up at the worst and stupidest times. I wouldn't at all mind being able to get some work done. -- ha
