Just so I'm clear, what exactly did you remove from your system to recover stability - just the native instruments DFD extensions (the file you need to enable DFD capability in NI sample products)? I believe that you have to have the latest one of these installed (1.30 from memory) in order to use DFD functionality at all. Are you saying you have effectively disabled DFD in all NI products, or just that you removed some older DFD extensions? Perhaps disabling DFD is the way forward, or perhaps one just needs to remove unused DFD files. When you reinstalled the NI plugins, did they reinstall DFD as part of the install process, or is DFD now disabled? Sorry to ask for more details. I also believe that some NI products may sometimes cause crashes in Logic - hardly surprising given their complexity. I depend on and love Kontakt, and believe a lot of issues will be resolved in Kontakt 2, but it would be good to have an interim solution. Thanks again Jules PS. For the record, I've also found that Fxpansion BFD beta 9 caused repeatable Logic crashes (possibly fixed in the new beta 14) and Hartmann Neuron can crash Logic and cause project wide MIDI transpose irregularities. Any accounts of other rogue plugins welcome.
