I'm sorry but you seem to be missing the point the other's posts
regarding ***LOGIC***
and its poor disc I/O performance. From my testing, Logic chokes
around the 90-100
track range whether you are using an internal SATA drive, a single
SCSI drive, or a 12
disc fibre-channel hardware raid capable of sustaining 180MB/sec. If
any disc storage
system would be able to handle 200 tracks, it would be my hardware
raid. And it can't -
with Logic. Not because the raid can't handle the throughput, and
not because the OS
can't handle the throughput - I stream FCP HD uncompressed video
footage from the
hardware raid all the time with no problems. If you can post some
test results that
demonstrate that you are getting 120-150 tracks in Logic using your
SCSI system, please
do post them, I'm very interested.
