The symptoms of that freeze are a beachball, with the ability to move the mouse, sometimes audio and midi through, but total GUI lockup without the ability to force quit. The scroll bar issue seems to be seperate, having to do with certain plugins, and causing Logic to crash, but not taking the system down.
