Hans, I agree with everything that you say above and would also
point out that my original mail was written in the midst of a fit of
fury at having lost so much work while performing such a basic
operation. The fact that I have not (up to now) felt the need to
regularly save out new copies of a Logic file is a tribute to its
past stability, but the fact that I will now do so is an indictment
of its current instability. As well as detailing the operations
that led up to the error to the list, I also submitted a bug report
to emagic, and would agree with you that it is beneficial do so.
