Subject: VSL says "no problem" to multiple machines
Message #172114
In my post of two days ago I decried the lack of EXS inclusion in Distributed Audio Processing of Logic 7. Someone (sorry I can't find the post I reacted to) claimed that was intentional to avoid 3rd party sample licensing violations. Several of you (e.g., Nick B.) have pointed out that there may be other reasons (of a technical nature) and that as far as the Vienna Symphonic Library is concerned, there is no problem running it on multiple machines already in a GigaStudio/Steinberg setup on Windows. Additionally, Christian M. from the VSL crew in Vienna made it perfectly clear: "i'd just like to mention: the license agreement for VSL allows you to install your licensed libraries on as many machines you might find useful." So, now all we need is for Evan Evans to figure out how to "trick" Logic 7 into allowing distributed audio processing (or is it "streaming"?) of EXS instruments ... :) - Paul
