You can set the freeze format to 24 bits. Then freeze, copy the files out of the freeze file folder and import them into arrange window audio tracks. Then you can cut and paste as much as you want. I completed a very CPU intensive project on a powerbook by this technique and it worked like charm, except for being very slow compared to working on my G5 without freezing the soft synths.
