These plugins are made for post recording but it is perfectly possible to run a couple of Tubifexes during recording just remember to switch off the non latency mode after recording. I do this many times a week and so do many others on this list. As for the UAD I agree that a non latency mode would be welcome for the Nigel but I just record with Tubifex and then after recording I decide if Nigel/Preflex would do a better job.
