Subject: PC slave in a Mac studio
Message #169667
Hi there, I have a powerful PC at home and was thinking of using it in my Mac centered studio. My plan is it to use it as a big sampler/software instrument. The PC has a Midi interface, a EWS 24/96 soundcard with analog in/out and digital in/out and some software from my pre-mac days. What are your suggestions to include it into Logic? My first idea is to connect via ethernet and use the remote desktop connection to control the pc using the mac. i could then play the pc using the midi out of the mac and patch the pc output with the mac input. but how would that be done best, especially concerning syncing issues? does anybody have any experience with that? is there a more elegant soluting, like rewire over firewire or something similar. cheers, andy. and on a sidenote: do you know if emagic plans to update logic express at some point? i work with it and i find it pretty unstable, i have two to three crashes a day. logic pro has reached 6.4.2 whereas express is still at 6.4.0.
