Because if they are just threads within Logic, they'll be sharing the same 2GB chunk, but if they're processes, they get their own. I have neither a Mac or Logic at hand right now (I'm investigating moving to it, which is why I'm asking this), so I can't test this, but I'd be grateful if someone could check that out and report the results.
