Nope. :) Just increase the number of audiotracks in your preferences (I believe it's in "audio hardware and drivers" but I can't check at the moment). You'll have more tracks, all usable at the same time, with the tradeoff of using more cpu and memory. 24 is just the default value. AFIK, you can't make two differently configured tracks/objects using the same "physical" audio channel; the settings are applied to the actual channel so the two tracks will always be configured the same.
