Hi. About 6 weeks ago I made the move to OSX 10.3.4 after years of wallowing in OS9.2. I bought one of the new models of Dual 2Ghz G5s with 3.5 G RAM. I'm using Logic Pro 6.4.2 although I've used 6.4.1 and 6.3.3 and the problem that I'm about to describe occurs with every Logic version that I've tried. The problem is this. Occasionally a track containing an audio-instrument track containing a soft-synth will just stop playing. I can see the light-meter flashing on the arrange page indicating that there are MIDI messages being played but there is no sound and visually in the track mixer there is no level shown. I've played something on my master keyboard to attempt to trigger the sound but to no avail. I've even tried getting rid of all the plug-ins on the track and then launching a different soft-synth on the same track but that doesn't work either. The only way I can get it to play again in by reloading the song. It happens with random instruments from Logic's own synths and sampler to various audio units to VST's that have been wrapped. Logic also sporadically quits unexpectedly but this has not as yet happened when a track has stopped playing. I've telephoned Emagic support in the UK and they suggested creating a new Autoload song which I've done but the problem continues to occur. I've also trashed the Logic preferences, repaired the Disk Permissions, run Disk Warrior and done a hardware test on the G5 (it passed). Is this a known bug? Or are there maybe some conflicts with my plug-ins? FXPansion VST-AU wrapped: Virtual Guitarist, Virtual Guitarist Electric Edition, Antares Auto Tune. ---------------------------------------------------------------- I am using the M-Audio Delta 66 soundcard (with an Omni I/O box), an AMT8 and a Logic Control. I was wondering if it could be to do with the new batch of G5s. I've heard that there are severe delays in getting them out to people due to unforeseen problems. Is mine one of the few that has got through the net? If anyone else is experiencing this problem please let me know or if anyone has a solution I would be most grateful. Many thanks, Nick
